Topic:
Community Service Coordinator
Question:
I would like to know if any of
the teen courts have a community service coordinator staff
person. If so, what is the job description? Do they work on teen
court nights and do they work on weekends?

Hello!
In our Teen Court, the TC Coordinator is also the Community
Service Coordinator. We recruit an additional adult
volunteer to oversee the Teen Court sessions while the
Coordinator explains the contract and CS requirements after
their case. The CS Coordinator is responsible for setting
up group weekend CS projects and client management. Our
program also handles Court-ordered juvenile community
service, so we are also in charge of setting up projects for
them.

We refer our youth court kids to
a separate agency for community service called RESTORE. They
have individual work sites and group projects set up 7 days
a week. There is always a supervisor on when the youth are
doing there community service. It might be the community
service coordinator or a staff person from the work site. I
am sure RESTORE would be happy to answer any of your
questions and may be present a job description for you. They
can be reached by calling Penny Dale (701) 239-0078.
